As you know, we’re working on the Wii U version of Shadow Puppeteer. One of the main differences between PC and Wii U is the Gamepad with touch screen. Adding gamepad functionality can be done in a good or bad way (as seen with other games).
So, I want to ask you:
1) What Wii U games do you think use the Gamepad well?
2) How would you like to see the Gamepad being used in Shadow Puppeteer?
Since I’m still waiting for a Wii U version, I haven’t gotten to play the game yet, so I feel I can best answer the first question based on my experience with the Wii U and its gamepad.
Zombi U is defenitely one of the games that utilizes the gamepad well with its inventory, map and scanner functionality. The Murphy levels in Rayman Legends are also quite clever in the use of the gamepad for a platformer. Most Indie platformers I’ve tried use it for the map, awsome games like Teslagrad and Guacamelee and it is a nice option to have easy access to maps, although its not very creative or making the game much better. Nintendoland of course is using the gamepad quite creativly, but thats the whole point with that game, right
As I understand from reviews, Shadow Puppeteer is a game where it is easier to play together with a friend than in singleplayer mode. Maybe the gamepad could be used in some way to enhance the singleplayer mode. But how? I don’t know.

I do not have a WiiU and I have not actually used the controller, but a friend of mine said that the Batman Arkham games were really fun with the WiiU’s use of the controller. I would think that the best use for a touchpad with Shadow Puppeteer would be with the “stencils” that are used in the game.
